The Ripple Effect: Minorities AND Marijuana 4/10/15

It is evident that the implementation of the Massachusetts medical cannabis program (and the push for legalization of recreational cannabis in 2016) has far reaching implications for the minority community.

The first formal event to highlight these concerns, provide information, and begin to build consensus around these issues took place Friday, April 10 at the Microsoft Research and Development Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

At this historic gathering, we were joined by representatives from the Drug Policy Alliance (Dr. Malik Burnett), The Marijuana Policy Project (Matt Simon), and Bay State Repeal (Bill Downing). Together we discussed the current status and challenges to equal access and just implementation, as well as strategies to successfully address these issues during the 2016 Massachusetts legalization bid.
